Heartbeat Breaths

You are one of the most beautifully elegant flowers I have ever had the good fortune of sharing a sunbeam with. Your fluid dance ripples on the currents of a selfless wind, blowing through the hearts of everyone you greet. I’ve watched your spirit soar and I’ve seen it land close to the hearts shore. I witnessed you provide a warmth that is beyond measurement and a gift that transcends value to many a stranger and friend. You are sincere in your efforts, true in your vision, and steadfast in your heart. These are but a few qualities shining the vibrancy of your fragrance. It is what I see and what you have given me; no less than a forever treasure.

You have made me an intimate part of your story. A chapter of the briefest moment yet eternal in a memories dream. The tenderness of a touch and the sweetness of a sublime caress are etched in starry passion above a dancing sky. Never to be forgotten, that sun shine day, when two souls twisted and turned to share loves eternal yearn. The subtle sunset beauty that wrapped two hands frozen from time is a gift forever in the mind. Many delights I held when I held you tight and many moments I cherish when you showed me your light. Each silent talk and every gentle embrace is filled with more than grace. You’ve given me your gift and it shall last throughout time.

Loves hiding place

I never knew it was true

That one could love me as you

I held the dream only at night

Never realizing I would find it in the light

This was how it went

As each season became spent

For years it repeated the same

I couldn’t help but think, am I the one to blame

Nonetheless, I always turned toward hope

It was all I found to keep me afloat.

So I clung to it as a bird to the wind

Always wondering if I would find it in the end

Then one day I chose to walk towards a fear

Knowing that vulnerability can often cause tears

I took a deep breath and didn’t look back

I held steadfast as I took this new track

I walked for years before my ears stumbled on a song

It touched me so intimately I knew it couldn’t be wrong

When I reached the source my eyes became stars

I was staring directly into a love without a single scar

Love held out its hand without a spoken word

As soon as I took it, we began to sing the same chord

I twirled her and danced with a funny voice

All the while delighted I took a difficult choice.

Residing beyond time, it escapes the future and holds no past. The now is all it will ever know. You’ll find it here, that magical space between our hearts. ~Alan Dilts

Righteous Surrender

I offered my heart, I offered my soul

You said thanks, but no.

So I gave it to you anyway without even trying

I only wanted to show I wasn’t lying.

In return I asked for nothing

Yet found you gave something.

It danced on a sparkle and twisted on a smile

Every time I noticed, I would grin like a child

Then one day you came with sapphires wide

I could see there had been a shift in the tide.

Now you gave the warmth of a kiss

The passion far from amiss.

We placed in each a part

It’s called, a portion of the heart

It glowed with the light

And for a moment all was right

Then in life’s furried haste

I watched as things began to waste

I tried to nurture what I helped create

But soon realized it was already too late

So I chose to be thankful for what we had to share

I did what I did because I care

I smiled and said you’ve always been free

And watched as you flew with glee

Away you went until I could see no more

But I found I felt far from poor.

I was so happy I could hardly bear.

Grateful for the gift you chose to share.

Promenade

Where do you run when you don’t want to be found? Where do you hide when no one is around? Would you share these answers of the heart if I proved to be true? Would you show me your flaws and would you place your warmth in mine if I give it enough time? Would you let me walk with your hand when you’re frightened? If I could see your pain would you share it even if it made me blue? If all these things I were to ask what would you think? If real is what I search and truth is in my heart will you see that I am not a fraud? Would you accept my gifts in private and in public? Would I be more than a secret behind a closed door? Could you give the love you were made to give? Could it be open for the world to see or shown only in times of your need? What are you thinking now that you see and what are you going to do now that you know?

From the Heart, A Sonnet

To love you

Did I get it wrong or right?

I did dance with the sparkle white

But I danced also with tears turned blue

I share all with you

Round and round emotions held tight

How many days are in twilight

This I can answer true

It matters not for two is one

Radiant beauty its smile

Joy like a child of

Everyday then becomes more fun

Walking hand in hand this mile

We share this word, LOVE.

Shifting Tides

One day a rain storm came my way.

I didn’t invite it along or want it to play.

But without even asking, it decided to stay.

It dumped and it poured all it’s liquid true

Soaking my clothing it sure made me blue.

Until I realized, to my surprise, it had a different hue.

I could see it’s smile through a sunshine dance.

It twisted and turned with many colors of its glance.

Then I saw the beauty it held in a rainbows chance.

My eyes grew wide and my smile stretched high.

I was witnessing the joy of a newborn sky,

Then, all of a sudden, I felt warm and dry.

It started from the inside and bubbled out,

Removing every reason I had found to pout.

I soon understood; love is the only way out.

Reward: The Life He Lives

IMG_20180415_113851

Life’s uncertain dance seems no more luck than chance. So a gambler rolls the dice in his hand, hoping to find the promised land. Each loss is a lessons pain and each win shows a lessons gain. This is the cost he must pay for the life he lives.

The sunny days warming light touches his eye and he realizes it was worth every day he had to cry. The rains will always return a new just to remind him of what it’s like to feel blue. This is the cost he must pay for the life he lives.

As he understands this cycle that helps to lift, he watches the stars dance around appreciations gift. All settles into ease as he sits with the breeze and considers all he sees. A calm knowledge of torments worry allows him to remove it from his story. This is the reward for the life he lives.

A Calm Storm

I found a seed in an unlikely place. I knew at first glance it was more than ordinary. Nurturing it we began to bond with each inch it did grow. Fast and pure it rose reaching out to take my hand. The warmth of a seasons shine allowed it to flower and in our eyes we found the sublime. Soon though, the clouds cast out the sun and a storm did rage with a violent howl. When it passed the flower was gone, wilted into a memories vision. The seeds it dropped fell to a tainted soil and only grew a thorny weed. Through this winters struggle the soil was tended with loves light and eventually it began to thrive. The weeds of thorn slowly, carefully being removed revealed in it’s absence the flower that once bloomed. Now the tender nurture begins anew as the flower starts to slowly grow.

Acceptance, A Gratitude gift

In a memories dream is where I find you

Floating on a hearts song across the sky

You are one of but a select few

Who can show the flower in your eye.

A gift of the finest creation

Wasted and lost to irrational behavior

A fools unwitty machination

Will I ever regain your favour

The lessons of life, a constant dance

Showing me i can do the drunks stumble

Or learn the Bolero, not by chance

All the while teaching to be humble.

Now I toss the regrets far away

I give the forgiveness of love

Finding myself in a new day

Look at me now, flying far above.

Power Arises Within

I found inspiration during a recent hardship. It was so overwhelming and powerful I’m not sure how to transcribe how it happens or the sensations associated with it. I do know internally, from the innermost of the inner, there is a power that needed to be released. This poem was the release.

An Unseen Melody

I say yes,

You say no.

I say happy,

You say sad.

I say easy,

You say hard.

You say yes,

I say no.

You say happy,

I say sad.

You say easy,

I say hard.

This is beauty,

A circles reunion.

Created with difference

Ever infinite

I say I love you,

You say not today.

I say I want you,

You say stay away.

You say I love you,

I say as I do you.

You say I want you,

I say I want you too.

This is the surest way,

Keeping the flowers out.

This is the roughest way,

Harboring the dark of night.

Look at your perspective,

Which way do you go?

Look at your direction,

What do you see?

I say I love you,

You say as I do you.

I say I want you,

You say I want you too.

You say I love you,

I say as I do you.

You say I want you,

I say I want you too.

This is loves gift,

A circles completion.

If each sees,

The outstretched arm.

The flower will bloom,

Under a rainbows glow.

I say yes,

You say no.

I say happy,

You say sad.

I say easy,

You say hard.

You say yes,

I say no.

You say happy,

I say sad.

You say easy,

I say hard.
