Hey, thanks :)

I just wanted to say…. Thank you. Thank you for shining your light when you’re told it’s got to be put out. Thank you for showing me what it means to be brave. I notice every time you stand-up for the innocent and you protect the weak. Thank you for sharing your moments with me, the good and the rough. Thank you for letting me be a part of your story. If it was only for a season I’m most grateful for the privilege, but if it happens we find more I’ll be thankful for another score. Thank you for sharing the games of your heart and the music it speaks. Thank you for the gifts without expectation of a return. Thank you for the conversations that made me smile or question my own position. Thank you for helping me grow and be a better me. Thank you for the support, it’s always made me feel like a winner. Thank you for the smiles of your heart and all the love you gave. Thank you for the treasure box moments that filled my wellspring with youthful joy. But most of all…… Thank you for being you! I wouldn’t change a thing. ❤

Topsy-Turvy World

Where are the leaders we need, the ones who show a moral compass through their actions. Where are the leaders of morality, conscious of conscience? Where are the leaders who call for equitable relations between consumer and producer? Where are the angels of this world who uphold the law of honesty? Where are the leaders who provide the solace speech that will inspire love for all? Where are ones who foster understanding? Where are the leaders people emulate not for popularity, but because they desire a higher level of consciousness evolution?

I’m told they reside on Capitol Hill, but I’ve been there and found none. It was suggested they roam the political offices of the state, city, and county. I looked for myself and I’ve seen them running the little towns of the Atlantic Coast, I’ve seen them driving big cities all the way to the Pacific, and I’ve watched them develop the forgotten towns of the Midwest. Yet none I have seen who use the Golden Compass.

Do you know where they hide? Have you seen them out in the open, walking the trails of life’s beauty? Did you talk to them when they passed or read the letters they wrote to the people of the world? Can you find them if you look? Do they live in your city or town? Would you know what you saw if they strode past?

All of these questions I had to ask in order to understand for myself; the one I sought is found on the inside. It’s in each of us and, if we learn to listen, speaks from the wisdom locked deep within. The treasures it gives free of cost. I only had to learn to ask.

Dribble Drabble Drizzle: A Poetic Musing

Relentless exchange

Today I danced with loves’ reality, quirky and carefree. Each step leading to an unexpected rhythm that harmonized the melody of movement. I could feel it in my eyes, the joy of present moment living. I observed its reflection in smiles of acceptance and warmth, magically moving with timeless fluidity. It was the end of expectations.

Treasure Box

Today I walked with a wolf who taught me to hunt love.

First, master your thoughts for they are the might behind it all.

Second, conquer yourself for it is your greatest adversary.

Finally, live in truth; it is your strongest weapon.

If all these you accomplish, success will be your discovery.

Courage

The silent voice only I know.

Talking from a place only I may go.

Giving me impulses with glimpses,

It’s a direction I may not know;

Nonetheless, it all will ebb and flow,

If only I learn to go.

Workplace

The chaos of underdeveloped organizational practices. That pretty much sums it up.

Today’s Chance

I met a man who I never knew. He had lost it all yet his smile showed no sorrow. In fact, most would say it was gay. He told me of his family and how he had lost them all. They weren’t dead, but chose to avoid him instead. I watched the flashes of rue meander his emerald fields. I could see he didn’t mind my knowing. He spoke of the relationships he ruined and the gifts he had lost. He never missed a beat and found a laugh at what his foolishness had cost. He said to learn from his mistakes was what made life so great. He spoke of his success and the life he lived with sparkling gems, making it hard for me not to grin. With every word he spoke I could feel the love it began to evoke. We talked for the remainder of the evening knowing the other we wouldn’t be seeing.

Can you see?

Can you see the world we live in? Fenced, gated, and sealed we hide with our possessions not letting any in. Our neighbors are foreigners to our lives and our love goes not beyond our border. We sit with empty, shallow consciousness oblivious to realities truth. It Is much more pleasant, easy, and welcoming to create our own version that fits within the parameters of our check a box lifestyle. Entertainment is always more enjoyable than the repugnant bitterness of a cold, harsh truth. So we smile at our ability to ignore, grow our uncaring with every pretend smile, and regress with each dismissal of any moment that we feel is negative. Not listening to each other with open, objective curiosity we hinder our own evolution. If the problem isn’t knocking at our door we aren’t opening it to see. We have sealed our senses to anything beyond our own enjoyment and harbored the darkness as friends. Can you see the world we live in?

Can you see the world we will create? Far beyond the current selfishness, a word removed from hatred, anger, and violence. A world where understanding prevails and neighbors have become loved, accepted as kin. I see the gentle kindness of consideration exemplified by all through compassionate listening. Morality has become intrinsically righteous. Iniquity is no longer known and leadership is filled with spiritual pursuit. The adage of “live and let live” has been replaced with “live and help live”. The energies given off from each other are peacefully joyous and welcoming. A stranger smiles at another stranger, each wanting nothing but love for the other. I see future generations who stop to help someone who has fallen, it matters not if they are strangers or friends to each other. I see a world where the flora and fauna thrive with renewed vigor. The animals are no longer going extinct due to habitat loss and climate change. They have become co-owners of this beautiful reality. I see how love has changed the world. Can you see the world we will create?

Thank you

You’ve shown me where you run when you don’t want to be found and you took me to where you hide when no one is around. Placing your warmth in mine, and holding hands we walked a scary line. You have shared your pain willingly even when you knew it would make me blue. All of these gifts from the heart you have given true.

Auspicious Beginnings

It began at midnight. You were sitting diagonally from me on a large square seat wearing a happy new year hat that reminded me more of birthday attire. There were two to our left holding hands as we all counted down. 10……….9……….8………. When we reached one our eyes met for a fleeting second before you leap and embraced me with a kiss. My heart fluttered with excitement and everything was beautiful.

Kindled Passion

If needs you have unsatisfied bring them forth.

I will give reception, verily and brazenly.

We shall sail to the edges of understanding,

Passion and reason our rudder and sail.

Our work, from love and one another,

Will sow seeds which produce the tenderest fruit.

We can give of ourselves with striving eternal,

Igniting the flame of enchanted hearts.

Finding no fear in the seeking,

we remove the shell of pain.

So come, let us go with the wind

Knowing our needs will change,

But our love need naught.

Heartbeat Breaths

You are one of the most beautifully elegant flowers I have ever had the good fortune of sharing a sunbeam with. Your fluid dance ripples on the currents of a selfless wind, blowing through the hearts of everyone you greet. I’ve watched your spirit soar and I’ve seen it land close to the hearts shore. I witnessed you provide a warmth that is beyond measurement and a gift that transcends value to many a stranger and friend. You are sincere in your efforts, true in your vision, and steadfast in your heart. These are but a few qualities shining the vibrancy of your fragrance. It is what I see and what you have given me; no less than a forever treasure.

You have made me an intimate part of your story. A chapter of the briefest moment yet eternal in a memories dream. The tenderness of a touch and the sweetness of a sublime caress are etched in starry passion above a dancing sky. Never to be forgotten, that sun shine day, when two souls twisted and turned to share loves eternal yearn. The subtle sunset beauty that wrapped two hands frozen from time is a gift forever in the mind. Many delights I held when I held you tight and many moments I cherish when you showed me your light. Each silent talk and every gentle embrace is filled with more than grace. You’ve given me your gift and it shall last throughout time.

Loves hiding place

I never knew it was true

That one could love me as you

I held the dream only at night

Never realizing I would find it in the light

This was how it went

As each season became spent

For years it repeated the same

I couldn’t help but think, am I the one to blame

Nonetheless, I always turned toward hope

It was all I found to keep me afloat.

So I clung to it as a bird to the wind

Always wondering if I would find it in the end

Then one day I chose to walk towards a fear

Knowing that vulnerability can often cause tears

I took a deep breath and didn’t look back

I held steadfast as I took this new track

I walked for years before my ears stumbled on a song

It touched me so intimately I knew it couldn’t be wrong

When I reached the source my eyes became stars

I was staring directly into a love without a single scar

Love held out its hand without a spoken word

As soon as I took it, we began to sing the same chord

I twirled her and danced with a funny voice

All the while delighted I took a difficult choice.

Residing beyond time, it escapes the future and holds no past. The now is all it will ever know. You’ll find it here, that magical space between our hearts. ~Alan Dilts

Righteous Surrender

I offered my heart, I offered my soul

You said thanks, but no.

So I gave it to you anyway without even trying

I only wanted to show I wasn’t lying.

In return I asked for nothing

Yet found you gave something.

It danced on a sparkle and twisted on a smile

Every time I noticed, I would grin like a child

Then one day you came with sapphires wide

I could see there had been a shift in the tide.

Now you gave the warmth of a kiss

The passion far from amiss.

We placed in each a part

It’s called, a portion of the heart

It glowed with the light

And for a moment all was right

Then in life’s furried haste

I watched as things began to waste

I tried to nurture what I helped create

But soon realized it was already too late

So I chose to be thankful for what we had to share

I did what I did because I care

I smiled and said you’ve always been free

And watched as you flew with glee

Away you went until I could see no more

But I found I felt far from poor.

I was so happy I could hardly bear.

Grateful for the gift you chose to share.
