Discoveries Purpose

Living for someone else

That was my life

The rat race

The path upon my face

But I did the math

And it didn’t add up

So I tried again

And found the same friend

I finally asked internally

Which way do I go

Follow your truth,

You define the couth

So I quit my job

Gave it all away

Moved out to my car

And began to travel afar

From the Appalachian chain

I went West toward the Rockies

And I didn’t stop at the neon beams

But in the Sierras, I found my dream

I hung out for a while

Learning about me

Strange to think

It all happened in a blink

From discovery, I moved

Up to the Wildland

I found the Alaskan Range on a spree

And learned what it meant to live with glee

But I needed more

I hadn’t learned enough

So I removed the borders of my life

And Crossed the seas to learn their strife

Around I went, a circle so it seemed

Then under a pastel sky

With one hand waving free

I discovered what it meant to be me
